The city of Bozen-Bolzano is quickly and easily accessible by shuttle bus, train, car or airplane.

By train

Direct trains to Bolzano (IC and EC): Trenitalia, ÖBB and DB

The train station of Bolzano lies in the centre of the city, a 10 -minutes walk by foot to unibz. Travelling time by train from :

  • Rome – Bolzano: 6 hours
  • Milan – Bolzano: 3.5 hours
  • Verona – Bolzano: 1.5 hours
  • Venice – Bolzano: 3 hours
  • Innsbruck (A) – Bolzano: 2 hours
  • Munich (DE) – Bolzano: 4 hours

By air

Bolzano has a small airport serving mostly national airlines. For international flights you may consider the airports of Munich, Innsbruck, Verona, Milano (Linate and Malpensa), Milano Orio al Serio, Bologna or Venice.

Directions from Innsbruck Airport
-> by shuttle bus from the airport to Bozen-Bolzano. You can find the timetable of the shuttle bus “Südtirol bus” here.

-> by public transport: take the city bus F (20 min – 2,50€ one way) to the Innsbruck railway station and then the train to Bozen-Bolzano. You can find information about the timetable of the trains on the websites of OBB and Trenitalia.

Directions from Verona Airport
-> by shuttle bus from the airport to Bozen-Bolzano. You can find the timetable of the shuttle bus “Südtirol bus” here.

-> by public transport: take the Aerobus to the Verona Porta Nuova railway station and then take the train to Bozen-Bolzano. You can find information about the timetable of the trains on the website of Trenitalia.

Directions from Bergamo Airport
-> by shuttle bus from the airport to Bozen-Bolzano. You can use either AltoAdigeBus or Flixbus.

-> by public transport: take the bus number 1 (10 minutes) to the Bergamo railway station and then take the train to Bozen-Bolzano. You can find information about the timetable of the trains on the website of Trenitalia. Another option is to take the Autostradale bus to Brescia and take the train to Bozen-Bolzano from there.

Directions from Bologna Airport

Directions from Venice Airport
-> by public transport: take the bus to Venezia Mestre railway station and than the train to Bozen-Bolzano. You can find information about the timetable of the trains on the website of Trenitalia.

Directions from Milano Malpensa Airport:

-> by public transport: take the bus to the Milano Centrale railway station and then the train to Bozen-Bolzano. You can find information about the timetable of the trains on the website of Trenitalia.

Directions from München Airport
-> by shuttle bus from the airport to Bozen-Bolzano.
You can use either AltoAdigeBus from the airport or Flixbus from the city center.

-> by public transport: take the S-Bahn (S8 – 35min) to München Ostbahnhof and then the train to Bozen-Bolzano. You can find the timetable of the trains on the websites of DB , OBB, and Trenitalia.

By car

Directions

When arriving from North or South, take the “Brennero A22” motorway which stretches from Brenner-Brennero (Austrian/Italian border) to Modena. Exit in Bozen-Bolzano North or South. Or take the state road “SS 12” from Trento to Brenner-Brennero or from Brenner-Brennero to Bozen-Bolzano.

If arriving from the West, take the state road“SS 38” from Reschenpass-Passo Resia to Meran-Merano and afterward the motorway from Meran-Merano to Bozen-Bolzano.

In case you arrive from East, take the state road SS49 to Bruneck-Brunico, to Brixen-Bressanone and than the Brennero highway A22 to Bozen-Bolzano – exit Bozen-Bolzano North.

Important information: the city center of Bozen-Bolzano is a “traffic retricted zone”, it means that you cannot access it by car. Please take care not to overstep the gates in order to avoid sanctions.

Parking

Please park your car at the nearby multi-story park  “Bozen-Mitte/Bolzano- Centro” in the Mayr Nusser street. Signs will show you the way to unibz, which you can reachable  in a short 10 minutes walk.
